End Of Innocence Poem by Marion Perrotta

End Of Innocence

End of Innocence

Little princess of the dawn
you live in a world of newborn dreams.
The day you were taken from your warm, soft,
safe and quiet,
and thrown into this cold, hard and
unpredictable world.
I felt your anguish as I watched you flay your
tiny arms towards the sky,
and cried for the peace you left behind.

Forgive me…
I’m young…
And tomorrow is a scary word.
