Luz EtchemendiGaray Poems

Along a path walks a strange creature
visiting the hermitages, sensing the marigolds,
Later he becomes man carrying his story on his back
upon his bare shoulders.
...

Summer brought you with the tide,
cast you on my beach,
garbed in boldness
When I saw you I discovered a microcosmos,
...

Alguien ha llamado a mi puerta desde el alba,
ha provocado el quejido de los goznes
parece que desea atraer cn su silvido
se va, regresa una y otra vez-
...

I have a voice
and I want you to hear me,
because a voice is the medium
we human have
...

Golden summer,
stardust summer,
of rocks, of sundstone;
mother-of perls summer,
...

6.

Today your eyes have
the sparkle of the open sea
that I perceive from the top of the hill
and they gaze at me
...

This is my room without locks,
this is my life by the water,
I do as I please.
Ilook out the window
...

The house complains,
her shutters purr,
bang with the stridency
of ships in the midst of a storm.
...

Tonight I will light the lamp
by the window,
disguise with kisses
the leaves of my dream tree
...

Amid games and laughter,
the two of us recaptured our childhood-
we learnde more of each other,
played hide-and-seek
...

11.

I wanted to stay to watch the sea birds
take flight,
wait for sundown;
to scan the horizon
...

I outlined your figure;
I wanted to make a drawing of your shadow
on the sand of the beach.
I have sketched your eyes, your mouth,
...

13.

You want to be the stronger,
the one who rules our shared hours.
I only know that you are lost
each time you see me.
...

Today the spume
lifts itself against the breakwater
like delicate Alencon lace.
The foam whirls, the waves dance
...

There is a scent of roses in the air
that reaches me as I turn in a dance
when I fly within your arms.
...

With one eye painted
and the other unpainted
a world appears
and two landscapes.
...

Dust seeps through the shutters,
rest on the shelves,
upon the books as well.
Dust takes possession of things
...

18.

Afternoon of clay and sensuality
ceiba trees along the coast
and mats of water hyacinths drifting by.
A canoe slides along the Parana river
...

Perderse en una calle
y perderse sin màs
como una pieza de ajedrez.
Desaparecer en el damero
...

Calles de mi ciudad
donde dejè la huella de mis pequeños pasos,
la tierra de mi padre
en la que vì la luz primera.

The Best Poem Of Luz EtchemendiGaray

To Jorge Luis Borges

Along a path walks a strange creature
visiting the hermitages, sensing the marigolds,
Later he becomes man carrying his story on his back
upon his bare shoulders.
He yearns to defeat vertigo and fear.
His light shines on the wheel of Destiny
and on the forge of centuries,
he dispels with it his mist and his torment.
For him it is life.
