L.J. Miller Poems

She is afraid of getting fat
So she doesn’t eat
She doesn’t know that
Her heart misses a beat
...

She spits cherry seeds at me
And tells me tales
She holds a Barbie
With plastic pig-tails
...

You whisper my name
It’s violent and beautiful, moving like a flame
It’s like a battle call
You raise your voice, ready to risk it all
...

Our lips tasted like sweat and sin
There was fire in our eyes
And rebellion in our hearts
As we let the night in
...

Tired of drama, tired of pain,
It’s not my dilemma, if you like to stand in the rain.
I love you; I'll never let you down,
But what you do, is treat me like the clown.
...

Where was she hiding, when you needed someone?
When you were crying, when you thought you were done?
But I was a fool, to think I could have you
I was just a tool, trying to break through
...

Once upon a damned day, you made a girl like me,
Drift away, into that bitter sea.
You toyed with her heart, made her bend
‘Cause when you start, you hurt ‘til the end
...

The words seem really pointless now
As they come back to me
And I can see how
You can make me into the enemy
...

Did you think that you could forget my smile?
And just run away for a while
Did you think you could forget my eyes?
That memory never dies
...

Alice followed me down the rabbit hole
She tumbled after me
Alice followed me down the rabbit hole
And she got the story
...

Her hair was filled with flowers
Her fingers thorns
She called me to her
I was torn
...

L.J. Miller Biography

I love to write. It is what I want to do my entire life and nothing else will come close to satisfying me. My plan is to retire at the ripe old age of 25 and live on a boat in the Caribean with my two lovers. The boat will be so big that neither of them will know about the other. Wow that sounds pretentious.)

Maddie's Poem

She is afraid of getting fat
So she doesn’t eat
She doesn’t know that
Her heart misses a beat
She wants love
So she breaks laws
She can’t seem to rise above
Her own flaws
When she smiles
She wants to cry
The whole while
Believing her own lie

She screams and shouts
But no sound
Comes out
As she sinks down
She lies and steals
Trying to find a way
A way not to feel
Hating every damned day
She loves me
And all her friends
But secretly
She wishes it would all just end

I wish she could see
How much we care
That life just wouldn’t be
Without her there
She gives us hope
Because she’s so strong
She makes us cope
When life goes wrong
I wish she knew
How much we love her
That there is nothing we wouldn’t do
Just be stronger a while longer
