Maddie's Poem Poem by L.J. Miller

Maddie's Poem

She is afraid of getting fat
So she doesn’t eat
She doesn’t know that
Her heart misses a beat
She wants love
So she breaks laws
She can’t seem to rise above
Her own flaws
When she smiles
She wants to cry
The whole while
Believing her own lie

She screams and shouts
But no sound
Comes out
As she sinks down
She lies and steals
Trying to find a way
A way not to feel
Hating every damned day
She loves me
And all her friends
But secretly
She wishes it would all just end

I wish she could see
How much we care
That life just wouldn’t be
Without her there
She gives us hope
Because she’s so strong
She makes us cope
When life goes wrong
I wish she knew
How much we love her
That there is nothing we wouldn’t do
Just be stronger a while longer

sometimes it's hard to feel loved even when you're surrounded by it..... and the most dangerous person to ourselves is our self..... a very well spoken poem!
