A man can be lonely and silence his thoughts
And never say aloud
How down and out he is feeling
because he is too proud.

too huge for any of we.
But the rich, the poor are all the same
as they reach their destiny.

You took my hand and spoke in verse
and then too soon came the curse.
Your labored breathing became our foe
and all too soon you had to go.

Oh sweet happenings that make me dream
Of wondrous days and splendid nights
Occur within the smallest seconds
and the tiniest of all my sights.

I wish your days had been longer,
my poet with beautiful words.
You left me and I no longer could hear the sound of birds.
They quieted down and then took flight.
