Corinne Watt Poems

The curtains come down
Rent from sky to earth
A reflection of the heavens
Newly created.
...

Waft, waft, waft, my magazine I wave.
In a warmer world
Wishing I was
Wearing less
...

Summer days of my early teen years
with sunshine rays that warmed still stretching bones.
Amazulu songs to good to be forgotten
The happy bop flowing forth from a radio from a window.
...

Carried in the mouth of His messenger dove like,
The seed of my life was purposely dropped.
God had me planted here for a weed free beginning,
And this little shoot appeared in Paisley Maternity.
...

A bright, but early hour.
The roads are still empty,
With only a platoon of pigeons to guard our streets.
Before even the bin lorry dwindles whining and chomping,
...

Straight in front
we shall stand slowly nearing,
hand touch hand pull me closer to your being
eyes though closing still are seeing
...

I loitered one festive season
Amongst the throng of gift laden shoppers
To see the Christmas light was my reason
...

Tingle my taste buds for it's that season,
To joyfully indulge with adequate reason,

When Winter's gone and sprung has Spring,
...

I've fallen again
Let the guilt now pour
And although You've forgotten them
You've heard these confessions before.
...

View this grey and stricken land
it's the landscape of my heart.
Sense the dark impending clouds
and the cold tears they impart.
...

Instinctively within was the knowledge
Of the goodly divine
My conscience holds record of its existence
But the wayward path is mine
...

Bent and twisted the marred soul, with a
dent in its self-belief imposed by others who can't
prevent the destructive cycle of sinning against sinners.
Agent of the devil unknowing that God sent
...

Insomnia.
My dreaded enemy since childhood.
Intangible form of torture with no reason,
just clock tick ticking
...

From the deepest depths of a despairing heart,
Grief formed into words and he made a start,
To express his frustration at events beyond control,
The cruel hand of darkness had so blighted his soul.
...

When my heart is weary and times are sad
And I haven't the strength to try
When satan twists my life to make it seem bad
I feel the change but don't know why
...

Months of unused paper
untouched, buried at the bottom
of the pile of 'Things To Be Done'.
A restless night
...

I read
How Jesus fed 5000 men in a miraculous way,
Crowds clamoured ‘round their new interest
The very next day.

Let It Snow

The curtains come down
Rent from sky to earth
A reflection of the heavens
Newly created.
A soft fluffy rug
Carpeting and cleansing
The filth of the road.
Sweet icing sugar clinging
To my chocolate brown boots.
Shawl of lace on the infant bushes
Spun by infinite flakes.
Talcum roof tiles
Making every building a monument
To Winter's only beauty.
The dark day's cure
By that which is pure
Let it snow.
