Corey Jones Poems
What have they done to you? you used to be so full of light. i was once that way, but now I'm as gloomy as the rain.
A Lovers Haiku
I just look at you, Smiling that big pretty smile and I fall once more.
The hardest part is to feel Feel something for you again I just can’t I don’t think I can actually bring myself to that
I thought about your smile today while waking down the Street. Memories came flooding in like rain. The way you looked at me when we'd fall back In love again. Of course we've had our ups and downs however nonetheless;
Letter To A Friend
I thought about you today When that song came on the radio The one you always played On our adventures down the road
It was sudden, like a bad dream come to life. She could see him there standing on his morals. Doing what he thought was right, for himself, his family, his country. The Gun was staring straight at her.
These words you use and say to hurt me That cut so deep and always burn me That make me think I’m so unworthy That mock and bruise and seem untrustworthy
For the Record
For the Record It’s time to air this No more keeping it bottled inside I do love you
She held the gun in her hand, For the longest time As memories flashed throughout her eyes She looked at him,
I wanted to write something. A sad something to express how i feel. A story of woe and heartbreak, of tears and unhappiness.
I depend upon you It's true you know When I said I weren't as strong as the others, I meant it.
You smile at me The fakest smile I have ever seen. You don't mean it, I see the way you look when I walk by;
Letting life beat me That's what I am doing I'm never right Always wrong
Just sitting down here in my grave watching the world erupt in flame

What have they done to you?
you used to be so full of light.
i was once that way,
but now I'm as gloomy as the rain.
someone once told me
there was hope for me still,
they said after every rainstorm,
there is a rainbow.
but the sun scares me now.
as i hide in the shadows,
and watch life from behind.
that is how i found you,
so broken and alone.
but we two,
we can be a pair now.
we can build a home here,
and relive all of our fears.
