Caleb Campbell Poems

When and where did you come to be?
So perfect in so many ways.
You helped me through the rough,
And through the rough days.
...

Do you ever just feel numb?
Like nothing pleases or saddens you.
You're just numb to the feelings and world.
Everyone gets this feeling it's true.
...

You feel so numb,
I've felt numb too.
You are emotionless,
I've been there too.
...

A tree in the meadow, settled, alone.
At peace, physical and mental.
So content with an unostentatious life,
his roots strong as diamond-coated metal.
...

Love said to me,
"Do not be afraid,
I've come to your aid
I am at your beckon, your maid.
...

I lost what I loved
a son I called my own.
The darkness took him
and I was unbeknown.
...

You're leaving, just for a year.
I guess we'll just put this on hold.
Pausing and playing every time we see each other.
This tragic thing is going to unfold.
...

One after the other,
I'm losing them left and right.
Friend after friend,
they are leaving my sight.
...

The heart is a fragile thing.
Memories of the past haunt me.
The cuts and bruises sting.

Ode To My Love

When and where did you come to be?
So perfect in so many ways.
You helped me through the rough,
And through the rough days.

You make me smile uncontrollably,
Smiling for no reason.
You mean more to me than you know,
You're bigger than the seasons.

I think of the future,
Heart flutters.
Marrying you and having children,
My mind can't cope, nothing but stutters.

You are my true love.
There's no place I'd rather be,
Than with you everyday.
You open my eyes and make me see.

Without you I would never have felt love,
Never known the soft touch of your lips.
Never gained the wisdom you past to me.
The thought of not having you, my heart just rips.

When I look up all I see is you.
Your glistening blue eyes,
staring back at mine.
I'm lost in you and,
Everything else just dies.
