Time Storm Poem by Caleb Campbell

Time Storm

You're leaving, just for a year.
I guess we'll just put this on hold.
Pausing and playing every time we see each other.
This tragic thing is going to unfold.

This is why so many give up in defeat.
The heart cannot handle bursts of love.
It's so fragile and weak,
not even strong enough to withstand a shove.

No! I will not let this happen.
Love is unfailing and prevails all.
So let's be the strongest,
we'll stand together and will not fall.

But yet a whole year without my love…
the heart will yearn as an addict yearns drugs.
But I can be strong, right?
Just ignore the tugs.

Ignore what life says.
Since when were we a follower of the norm?
There is no turning love down.
I'm gonna love this challenging storm.
