Love Said To Me (Response To 'i Said To Love' By Thomas Hardy) Poem by Caleb Campbell

Love Said To Me (Response To 'i Said To Love' By Thomas Hardy)

Love said to me,
"Do not be afraid,
I've come to your aid
I am at your beckon, your maid.
Just like the sea,
There will be rough waves,
But do not concave."
Love said to me.

I said to it,
"I have been thrown around,
My tears, oh how did they drown.
I am in a pit,
So dark and imprisoned,
I hate the state I'm positioned."
I said to it.

Love said to me,
"I know you have suffered
And easy is what's preferred.
But to be free,
You must feel trapped,
Just like pain comes with a stabb."
Love said to me.

"Don't stress.
Give it your all and then some more!
Love as though everything loves life, soar.
Love, why apress?
The heart of the earth, and the breathe of life,
There will be happiness but there will be strife."
Love said to me.
