I went up to the mountains to find her
because I knew an angel would never sit atop a skyscraper

up to where the streams run so long
...

Let us not attempt to walk amongst the legless
Let us not simply speak amongst the tongueless

Let us be the legs that walk for the legless
...

Lets meetup tonight and dance in the meadow
Astral projection style
Letting our bodies be waves against the grain
Syphon out the sadness and pain
...

I had a dream last night
you and I became an us

I dreamt in so many lovely colors that don't exist
...

I saw Jesus once while on an acid trip
He told the funniest jokes
We had the best of laughs
We rode around on pink giraffes
...

Kiss thy crimson lips
make like a rose and die
pedals of pink to black of night
...

There are these shadows that sit atop these walls
These people with no faces
You have no idea of the creepy noises they make
No idea what their voices will say
...

If you've got cavities of the soul
Fill them up with feelings
If your thoughts be undefined
Seek out the meaning
...

Well I've been feeling a lot like the tin man these days
Sometimes the past just bears down on me
like a hangnail
...

I'm here in a devilish place
Staring across the room at a demon face
My hands are clammy
I can't even stand me
...

The clowns, those painted jesters
All rode in on Thursday
The tigers were rolled in on Friday
She rode in on Saturday
...

Driving to an unknown destination
Don't know where this road leads to
Don't care at least I know what's in the rear view
...

Trembling like a frightened dog
Quiver like an old man in a nursing home
This is losing your mind
When your heart is already gone
...

Angels Never Sit Atop Skyscrapers

I went up to the mountains to find her
because I knew an angel would never sit atop a skyscraper

up to where the streams run so long
where only her lashes could compare

where you listen out for quiet thunder
whether it fox or bear
for its is only here, in this place,
that I can truly hear
all the subtle pitch changes in the angel's voice

I come here and laugh at the notion
as if I ever had a choice
