Better Days Poem by Kiki Marie

Better Days

Rating: 5.0

I put the knife to my skin,
Pressing hard enough for the bleeding to begin.
I watch the blood splash to the floor,
While making sure noone comes in the door.

For a brief moment the pain is released,
&& that's when i find a sense of peace.
The feelings is gone as fast as it came,
But I don't feel nearly the same.

I still have the overwhelming feeling,
&& I don't know if i can keep dealing.
I don't understand these feelings or thoughts.
But, I'm thinking help should be sought.

I'm all alone in the dark night,
Hoping there will be a promising light.
I wish there was something to get me through these dark days,
As i lay here in a foggy haze.

I can't keep going on like this,
It's my old self i really miss.
I no longer know what to do or say,
I just hope I see better days.

Better days are just ahead my friend. Great read. You explain the power of this sort of release on a tortured soul so vividly I was bleeding with you. I feel much better for this metaphorical release. I do hope you feel the same for writing it. A peace filled weekend to you, smiling from sun drenched Cornwall, Tai
