How Much More? Poem by Kiki Marie

How Much More?

Rating: 4.0

She doesn't know how much more she can take.
Or how many smiles and laughs she can fake.
Pretending she's happy takes a lot of energy.
She goes through her day morosely.

At night she releases her hurt and pain.
With a knife, trying to reach her vein.
No longer wanting to live with the shame,
But, wanting to die, to no longer feel pain.

She is pressing the knife deeper and harder,
Slipping into unconscienceness even farther.
There is so much blood dripping on the floor.
Glad to be released of the hurt for ever more.

She thought suicide would be an easy outlet.
Though she woke up to someone she's never met.
Her sister found her almost dead,
At least that's what this stranger said.

She realizes she's in the emergency room.
She has all these feelings to try to consume.
Relieved her sister found her when she did,
Or else she really could be dead.

Upset because she scared the poeple who care,
No more crazy thoughts, she doesn't dare.
Hoping this second chance works out.
She is no longer having so many doubts.
