Sarah Liz Bowman Poems

You hear it whisper in the hall
Then the pounding on the walls
Always sensing someone's stare
But you know that no one is there

She’s a demon that’s why I did what I did- you see
She was a demon who fed on misery
She hid in plain sight behind a perfect mask
And yes- at first I too was fooled by her act
...

I feel cheated-And
The pitying stares burn
I don’t know how to be an “adult”
I never had to learn
...

The night is dark
The wind is cold
The trees are bare
...

It's not your fault-
That it's all falling to pieces
It's not your fault-
That there are impossible objectivs in the way
...

I saw a shadow in the glass the other day
But when I blinked it had gone away
I wasn't one to jump at shadows on the wall
For all I knew they had gone down the other hall
...

You should be kind to strangers
Some- not all- can be quite dangerous
Show courtesy to those who ask a favor
You never know it could be a lifesaver
...

The room is small dark and cold
The air is damp and smells of mold
My thoughts as of late have turned a little violent
Although it seems my escape won't be completely self-reliant
...

11.

Voices in the corridor
My imagination nothing more
I hear the voices in the night
I awaken frozen in fright
...

It really is a beautiful old brick building
If you look too long you get an ominous feeling
Shadows seen from the corner of the eye
Noises in the hall when no one was by
...

Bloody Mary of the lake
Searching the night for souls to take
Don't wonder alone near the lake after midnight
Her twisted face will be your final sight
...

I don't know what I want-
but it's mine alone to find
Searching for answerers-
in the corners of my mind
...

You tell yourself that nouthing is there
You want to look but you don't dare
Your mind relives every scary story in your head
you cruse yourself for very dark naritive read
...

A clock has stopped
And all the rest spiral on
Every tick and every tock-
Remind me that you are gone
...

The abbandoned house at the end of the street
Hurry now don't drag your feet
Somthing strage must have happened there
No one really knows so best beware
...

I bought the old mirror at an antques fair
The frame was chipped but no worse for ware
But somthings not right- you see
The girl in the reflection isn't me
...

Something Is In The House

You hear it whisper in the hall
Then the pounding on the walls
Always sensing someone's stare
But you know that no one is there
Footsteps in the attic above
Now and the you feel a shove

Icy fingers down your spine
All the clocks stop at the same time
Objects moving, batteries always draining
Do you feel your sanity waning
Shadow figure give you a fright
The bed shakes in the middle of the night

Strange burses and scratches appear
You sit alone frozen in fear
Having nightmares of the past
How much longer can you last
There is a simple way to get a reprieve
I've done all this why won't you leave
