It's the swelling of a saphire tide
As the graceful fish swim through it

You chuckle at my desperate face
I'm just a silly girl.

A place with saphire skies
That stretched as far as dawn,
Where all the world awoke together
To stare at the misty dawn.

When I see you I feel an ache deep inside
A pain that's all around me
A glance your way and it all floods back
Till fear and hate surround me

I couldn't sleep last night
So I sat staring at the sky
Gazing at the blazing lights
Of comets passing by
...

I felt a monster rise
Deep inside of me
It filled me with a cold old fear
That no one else could see
...

What does it take to do that?
To run away and leave
To abandon those you said you loved
To break what we believed
...

I don't want to fall to pieces
Right here on this dark old floor
As I think about the way you touched me
Through our closing door
