Your House Poem by Kristy Shelton

Your House

It's quiet in your house right now
Everyone is asleep
The hum of the fans is soothing
Then there's the shuffle of your feet

My ear, warm with your whisper
Takes in all your breath
And would lie there for eternity
Until there's no more left

The presence of your arm
Across my back and side
Its safety ever flowing
My body willingly confides

I'm waiting for your voice
That gives me chills so fast
It plays over in my mind
The first word spoken, to the last

There we go from two to one
As if it were a proficy
Fate finally shown down on us both
A more perfect love, there'll never be
