Your Eyes Reflect Your Pain Poem by Marien Jacobs

Your Eyes Reflect Your Pain

Your eyes, my dear friend, are the windows of your soul
Which show that through the years, your inside's still not whole.
Your eyes reflect all your hurt; all your pain
Which lies before you like a lake after some rain.

You try to forget your pain by listening to someone else's story
And you never think that maybe one would like to hear your pain and glory.
Won't you trust me, and tell me every thing deep
Down inside, which still makes you weep!

Don't be afraid that I'll leave you in a time like this
When you come to me for some advice,
Because I have no fear
To stand with you through every tear.

I beg you now to please trust me,
Cause my love for a friend will always be
True, and through Christ I care for you my friend,
So come on quick, don't wait for time to be spent.

Because my heart's wound won't heal
While there's still hurt in your heart to be feel.
And for you, in my heart, there's always enough love
Because for me God's love was more than enough.

But besides all your pain
There was some knowledge for me to gain:
Don't speak of love and let the deed be weak,
But of love, let your whole being speak.
