You Said That I Should Trust You Poem by Dipy Hermonite

You Said That I Should Trust You

You said that I should trust you,
You asked me ‘to believe',
But then you turned the other way,
And just left me to grieve? !
When for my lovely child they came,
Where were you then?
When she was screaming out so loud for help,
And they took her - all of ten?
She called out for her Papa,
She called out for her Ma,
Why did you then, just forsake us?
We'd believed in you so far? !
Why didn't you even warn me?
For me to sprint and go?
To save my little darling child,
From those that we abhor?
Did you fill them all with odious lust?
To satiate their greed?
My girl was only eight you know,
Had you wanted me to plead?
Had the Devil challenged you,
For a dual on that day?
I don't think you had practiced,
You just let him have his say! !
She was only just a child,
So innocent, so pure.
She would dance and she would play,
Wait for me at the door! !
They snuffed her out - the MONSTERS,
Flung a stone onto her head,
Didn't stop at all until the time,
They were sure that she was dead! ! !
Are you getting to be weak?
Or is he growing strong?
Is the Devil gaining ground?
To practice all his wrong?
Or is it true that some of us,
Have ‘Lesser Gods' like you?
The Gods that lose out all their duals,
To others - is that true?
But be that as the way it is,
Now my child is there with you,
Shower my angel with all your love,
Tell her we miss her - Oh we do! !
