You Have To Go On Poem by Runita R Menezes

You Have To Go On

When someone’s hurt you deep in the heart,
The same someone who you thought was from the rest apart.
Your one and only true lover,
Created a wound that might to heal take, forever.

But you have to go on my friend,
Life isn’t one pleasant song from beginning to end.
You have to try and stay alive,
You have to believe that you can survive.

How could this happen, you often wonder.
How could he claim to love you and say its over?
How could he walk away without a word?
Couldn’t the sound of your breaking heart be heard?

You have to go on little dear,
Cause the whole thing has made you wiser.
How would you learn without ups and downs?
How would you value a smile over a frown?

You need to go on and grow up too.
You have to try and chase away those blues.
So put on your best smile, cause another will come along,
Who’ll turn your life into a beautiful, memorable song.

Wonderful again - your writing I mean. How does one repair a fragile heart broken and in splinters lay...we must believe in ourselves and we must believe he was not the one
