Words Poem by Ishika Sharma

Rating: 4.5

She was a friend not long ago,
She made me her friend what was her woe.
She just wanted to understand how I felt,
She was the only one who did not see the faults I had dealt.

She was a friend not long ago,
She made me her not her foe.
I was very proud of my friendship.
But people made me feel we two on one drowning ship.

She was a friend not long ago,
She made me her friend I made her my foe.
By saying words, words full og dirt,
That made her heart hurt.

She was a friend not long ago,
She made me her friend why did I make her my foe.
Twenty years have passed, but still I cry,
For the words I said, they still make me cry.
Because that day,
I lost a precious gem of my life.

Betraying a friend in a thoughtful, self serving and fundamental way can be very painful, hence difficult to forgive. A lovely poem penned with insight. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
