Word Games Poem by Noah Body

Word Games

Up, down, all around
Inside, outside, going to ground

The world was flipping
And my mind is slipping

It's all good
in the neighborhood

But I'm not there
Think I am nowhere

Not in the world today
Not around here anyway

The light's growing dimmer
Inside me I simmer

As I watch hope fade
Through the dark I wade

I've lost me again
and I don't know when

or if I'll be back
on the top of the stack

I hate this life
Can't fight this strife

It's a game that's lost
before the coin is tossed

The dark is calling
under it's spell I am falling

It is seducing me
As this beast is reducing me

To word games like here
To keep me from going where

The beastie would take me
cause it'll isolate me
