Wont Let You Go. Poem by Kathryn Garner

Wont Let You Go.

Take my hand, promise its forever
Because to lose me would be to sever
Your life, because in sight
Deep down in the color of my eyes
Lies the memories that are to be made
As the sun fades

And we lay in the green, green grass
Letting time pass
Us on by, saying goodbye
To the world, we don’t need them
We need who’s holding to our hand
We don’t understand
What’s happening to the sky
Above us where we lie
Reflected in each others eyes
Making up stories with our mind
As the day starts to unwind

Let me lie, deep in your eyes
Watching the skies
Pass by forever, take my hand
Promise you’ll never
Let me go.

The sun has died, here come the stars
Take my hand, they aren’t so far
Already have what I’d wish for
Never break me, I don’t ask for more
We can count them; we have till the end of time
You say the right words,
I repeat the line
And we wait for the end of forever
Promising that you’ll never
Let me go

Its pitch black, you squeeze my hand
A simple gesture, only I could understand.
A promise that its forever
And you’ll never
Let me go

Take my hand, give it a squeeze
It’s a promise that you wont leave

Do you know I love the way you blush
After I give my lips a brush
Against your sweet cheek.
Do you know I love the way you hold my hand
In a way only I could understand
Do you know I love the way laugh
Its as though you know were gonna last

The sun comes up,
Shining in the color of you eyes
Catching the green flecks as we lie
On the sweet green, green grass
Letting all of time pass
Lean closer, listen to my heart
Its whispering a secret only for you
I love you
I truly do.
I love you.
Time will pass by forever,
Take my hand, because ill never
Let you go.
