Without Title, But With Respect... Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

Without Title, But With Respect...

Rating: 3.9

Without a Title, but With Respect...

never argue
in a conversation
never ask questions
in a conversation

listen carefully to the person speaking
only speak when it is your turn
never interrupt
especially not under oath

must be a conversation
very sympathetic
with ethics encapsulated
without a pinch of venom
or tactics

appreciate the other person
speak quietly and honestly
be humorous and funny, you can
never confront your speaking partner
just be that patient part

always have the best for the other
all kinds of subjects are allowed
don't use too difficult words
and not the dictionary
want to be Kramer's, Oxford or Cambridge
appreciate the other, consider him / her as your drink florijn
(a tiny glass of Dutch gin)

never too long stories
the chance is then 99% failure....
this advice-poem is not perfect
no title, but with respect,

NOTE: One may always ask, but general polite rules, do not ask while conversing, but afterward.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Nice that you chose this topic, Sylvia. Communication is so important, and yet we mess it up so often. You give some good reminders. I agree with Luis about asking questions - they are a way of showing interest. But of course, what you ask and the way you ask is crucial.

This poem transfers a powerful message to behave very well in conversation and not to argue or put unnecessary questions. We should have patience and listen carefully to the person speaking. Without a pinch of venom a conversation should be done. We should not hurt others. A sympathetic conversation is always pleasing to all. An excellent and valuable poem is very well penned....10 Excellent sharing!

How to etiquette other in conversation has been so incisively delineated by you, dear madam.. We must listen carefully to a person speaking and then we have to speak when it comes to our turn. We must not use the difficult words. A beautiful poem with good advices is amazingly shared.10
