Wishing To Be Free Poem by Emily Swinney

Wishing To Be Free

To wish to be free.

To feel the pain but it not bother me.

To not feel anymore.

To wish to be a closed door.

To just appear that way.

To wish it would just all fall away.

To wish to enjoy the ache.

To feel like a dried up lake.

Nothing special, nothing there.

Not much, nothing to spare.

For the fight against it to be all I’ve ever known.

For the battle to be just a single stone.

A stone thrown across the ocean.

A single motion.

But pain remains.

I cannot refrain.

It will not dissipate,

I will not admit my own fate.

Its been my experience that pain and life go hand in hand together. You rarely have one without the other. Lean on your friends and family. Thats what they are there for. Great poems and keep writing!
