Wishes Of A Lonely Shell Poem by ritty patnaik

Wishes Of A Lonely Shell

i am
a shell
at the sea shore,
pick me up,
because, i am dreaming
sleeping here in the sand.

many have trampled,
and tortured me
hardship has been my life
all is left is pain.
yes, i am a seasoned shell!

yet,
when the moonbeams
are on the pine trees
the sea will smile in glee
the sea will merge
its smile with me
and i, a part
of the grand sea.

Sometimes you stand so near and yet so far from your destination, beautifully expressed!
