Winter Poem by Steve Ricketts

Winter

My winter has arrived, only darkness do I see. I try to recall your voice, it would be a light for me. My summer's are no more and my spring will not be seen. I'll never have my sunshine now your not with me.

I try to turn a corner, to find a ray of light. But I only find the darkness, this nightmare that keeps me from the light. I stumbled in the darkness, my mind struggles to be free. This dark depressing feeling, just won't let me be.

I feel my life is over, no more can there be, those loving arms to hold me, for that is what I need. To know that you are waiting, that tender kiss hello, that soft smile waiting, for me to come on home. The sound of your laughter, would feel so good to me. The warmth of your body laying next to me. There's so much I miss about you, now you'er no longer here with me.

These short essays are lovely and enjoyable. May I point out two common grammar slipups that are easy to overlook. ‘Arrive’ is present tense, add a ‘d’ to indicate that winter has arrived. ‘Your’ is the possessive. When using the contraction for you are not with me, it is written ‘you’re’. I hope these hints will make your essays even more enjoyable. Adeline
