Why Does The World Resist? Poem by Katie Pierce

Why Does The World Resist?

Rating: 5.0

Why does the world resist?
We are flung together on this earth
On this great hurtling planet
Flying through space
We have no time
No time to wait or to wonder
Our lives are only flashes
Flashes of bright color and blurry contrast
Life constantly proving one thing over and over
We need what we need
We want what we want
We love who we love
Regardless of endlessly shifting social set-ups
We are all the same chaotic mess inside
So why does the world resist?
Drawing lines in the sand is useless
The waves of time just wash them away again
And again
Every soul is made of the same chaos
And has potential for the same reckless love inside
Love that won't follow the rules
So stop resisting.

i like it...i often wonder why things don't go the way we want..the way we planned. seems like your talking about how love takes it own course but is blocked by the world. That the world needs love, but is resisting it. 10
