WHEN THE LAST POEM IS WRITTEN

When the last poem is written
And there is nothing more to be said
And the Quiet returns to the Universe
Because even the Greatest are dead,
I will no longer be here
And you will not have a grave
And even the most telling of metaphors
Will deconstruct unread into Space
