When I Go Poem by Alejandro Torres

When I Go

You murder me
Completely
And thoroughly
Shatteringly
Falteringly
Piece by piece
With every hello
Every goodbye
Each silent moment
That literally sounds
Just way too loud
For this fragile heart
An atom
A molecule
A flake of skin
Every tear
A piece more devoted to you
Than to its original owner
But you go days
Upon weeks
And let them turn into months
Without a single thought
Spared for me
And when you remember
Your formalities
You hold that Pearl Pistol
To the few remains I have left
And for some reason
I just cant bring myself to care
If you pull the trigger
Or not
As long as you smile
When I go
