When First I Saw You Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

When First I Saw You

When first I saw you, face beautiful, intoxicating
I dreamt but never thought my dream could be reality
Flesh to flesh, lips to lips, bonding love's infinite
With desire and passion given free soaring reign.
Decades later we talk daily by phone, our secret
And still you seed my heart afresh with love's delight
Flowers, I never thought to grow and flourish
Garden of bright colours where I often visit.
You captivate my Muse to compose your praise
Proclaiming joy, wonder, and thrill I find in you.
Voice soft and gentle, lilting, exciting to my ear
Echoing within my mind when I am alone
Whispered words of your steadfast love for me.
God bless the woman who gave you birth.
