What's Next Poem by Randy McClave

What's Next

He posted there will be a community meeting
And there will be ample seating,
For the residents of the Ponderosa, Briarwood and Windy acres subdivision
Trouble he sees looms in his thoughts and vision.
The meeting will be at the Boyd County Community center
Through the back door unnoticed all residents can easily enter,
He requested and pleaded for all residents to attend
So, unto the follow disastrous problem they could find a swift end.
A resident has just bought a house on Bonanza drive
Because, of this purchase our community and property value will nosedive,
It's going to be a group home for disabled individuals
Who knows of their disabilities or sickness, Illness or it's residuals.
This is a cause that is needed and which is truly good
But, not never in our healthy, clean, righteous neighborhood,
Now here is where I stand and why the worried complex
If this is allowed to happen, then what's next.
Who else then will want to live in our beautiful caring community
Who else will want to call home to our little city,
If we don't stop this now we're just then opening the door
And then we will lose all which we adore.
The coming meeting will be hosted by an insurance guy
Who will sell you insurance, if you get hurt or sick or even die,
He doesn't want a toxic post though he posted one by choice
He wants to speak as one I guess, with an uncaring voice.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
In the next community not far from where I live an insurance agent (owner) sent a letter to all residents about a house bought being converted into a resident for the disabled.
