What Once Was Poem by Chimwemwe kangulero

What Once Was

In a garden of shadows, where love's bloom did fade,
A heart once guarded, now trembles with grace.
The walls that held strong, now crumble with ease,
As hope's sweet stroke, a new path does grace.

The sun that once shone bright, now hides its face,
But in its place, a gentle warmth does embrace.
The breeze that whispers truth, brings a sigh of relief,
As the heart, once locked, now opens in belief.

The flowers that once withered, now bloom again,
As love's sweet touch, a new life does gain.
The stars that twinkled few, now shine so bright,
As happiness, a new light, does ignite.

The heart that once was guarded, now beats anew,
As hope's sweet stroke, a new love does pursue.
The world that once seemed dark, now shines so bright,
As happiness, a new dawn, does take flight.
