What I Wear Poem by Randy McClave

What I Wear

I usually wear unbranded and cheap clothes
What I wear that is what I have proudly chose,
My shoes are rather old and a little bit tore
Because, I usually shop at the Goodwill store.
I might help a family member mow their grass
Or maybe we might go fishing for catfish or bass,
Maybe I will help them weed their garden
Or maybe I'll need to pick a friend who received a pardon.
Sometimes my pants have holes in the knees
And now I always feel the breeze,
And when I buy clothes they are never the name brand
Neither is the watch on my wrist or the ring on my hand.
I might be needed to run someone here or their
I might be needed to fix a broken chair,
Or maybe I might be needed to help find a lost dog
Or maybe I'm getting ready for a walk or for a jog.
When I dress, I dress the way that I like
Who knows I might help a friend move or maybe I might go for a hike,
I don't care how people talk about how I dress
I have a family and friends to help, not a community to impress.
