What I Don't Want Poem by Randy McClave

What I Don't Want

I don't want free healthcare
That's not my wish or my prayer,
And Ill say is this without regret
I want my tax dollars to pay for it,
Instead of paying for a war either here or there.

I don't want a free place to live
Where they just give,
I want affordable housing because of my income
And I don't want to be treated like a bum,
I am not a beggar, but resistive.

I don't want free cash
I want a job to pay my basic needs and not trash,
And I want to support my every basic need
So, to buy clothes for me to wear and food to feed,
And, I don't want businesses to crash.

I don't want to pay for everything
That fact you will always hear me sing,
I want the wealthy to also pay their share as well
In the same country as neighbors we all dwell,
We need government, and not a king.

I don't want to see or hear of voter fraud
After every election winners and losers should applaud,
And every American should be allowed to vote
In person, or by the mail, typed or wrote,
And then we all give praise unto almighty God.

I don't want politicians who are millionaires
I want leaders who truly cares,
And I don't want them to make more money than me
Just because they work for me and my country,
And I don't want one who lies, steals or has affairs.
