What Do We Say? Poem by Marilyn Lott

What Do We Say?

What do you tell your children
When their world has turned upside down?
What do we say to an elderly parent
When you see their confused frightened frown?

You say prayers to the Lord so often
You ask "God, are you listening? "
You know He sees what is happening
On many faces shiny tears are glistening.

You pray for those healthcare workers
Who are on the front lines of it all
It is so much like a warzone
It's hard to stand confident and tall.

But all we can do is to listen to those
Who truly are aware of this virus
Don't listen to what is simply politics
We have to know what's right for us.

Of course it's a world unlike any other
Can our children go out to play?
When they ask about going to school
Dear Lord, what do we say?

It certainly is a different world now. I don't have elderly parents. I AM the elderly parent. I love the picture and the message. Thanks for posting this.
