Weapon Poem by Siyabonga A Nxumalo

Weapon

Rating: 5.0

Everybody rejoiced that day.
Flash lights flashed everywhere.
Women ululating,
Men whistling.
We all cheered together.

I thought my vote
Was a perfect weapon.
I thought you were
A perfect choice.

Now you turned my
Weapon against me.

I thought you were
To wipe tears on our faces.

I don't want your privileges,
I don't want your fame,
I don't wana be you.
I just need a little help.

Help with infrastructure,
Help with education,
Help with security,
Help with job creation.

Flash lights flashed everywhere,
Women ululated,
Men whistled,
We all cheered together.
Everybody rejoiced that day....
...but today we don't...

Very nice poem, Siya. So much wisdom here. Politics remains a dirty game, being about power and wealth for the politicians and nothing much else all over the world. Dictators have been overthrown in many places but the ones taking power after that, turn out to be very often not much better. I really hope that one day many countries can see a 'kindness party' being founded and dominate the politics. I believe that a kindness revolution is just around the corner.

I learned long time ago, that do not put your trust in man, only in God. You can vote, but we have to let go, and know that God has a reason why some gets an office. You see everybody has their own challenge in life, and this is theirs. It is not important what they do, the important if they learn from it. In the meantime our place is to know that everything is in the hand of God, and we will be all right. When you find that faith, nothing will touch you. But if you fight, you never win, it will destroy you and not anybody else. Your personality is that you suffer with the world, and what you set out you will achieve, you will be a good leader where ever you are, because you feel with your people. Just continue it. Relax and let go, and let God bring what ever, because what makes you angry, it is your temptation. When you cool down and trust in God, when you really believe it, it will pass away. Until then, do your best in everything, what ever is your part to do without blaming anybody.
