We once walked hand in hand
But somewhere you fell behind
Took a diffrent turn, made a diffrent choice
But you were always on my mind.

We travelled toghether
Day by day, mile by mile
Along the path of life you chose another course
But I never quite forgot your smile.

We didn't work as a couple
And as friends we never did so good
And although it's all too late
I know now that I should
-Should have told you I loved you
while I honestly could.

You and I were like a story never finished
We could never quite get to the end
And no matter how many letters I wrote
Not one, I managed to send.
-Though lately never there
You will always be my friend.
