We Are The Dreams, And The Dreamers Poem by Hebert Logerie

We Are The Dreams, And The Dreamers

Seriously, I am ready to sing
Ready to cry out loud my friends that
You and I are the dreams
The dreams of Dr. Martin Luther King
The dreams of our ancestors
The formidable brave fighters
I am ready to sing like the fat cat
The struggle must push more steam
The fight must go on unimpeded
We must go forward, ahead
No going back, no regression
Let's unite, protest, and take action
The dreams are not broken
The dreams are not interwoven
The dreams are alive
The dreams will survive
Regardless of who is in power
Regardless of who is at the tower
The dreams will flourish
And will become very rich
The roots of the tree are very strong
Very tough and very long
As long as our children are living
The dreams are well and alive
As long as kids are graduating
The dreams are well and alive
As long as our citizens are combatant
The dreams are well and alive
As long as our people are vigilant
The dreams will endure and survive
Dreamers are stubborn and resilient
Dreamers are courageous and patient
The dreams will never die
And dreamers never die.

Hebert, I like the cadence in this. It brings to mind Hip Hop lyrics and a few of the Psalms. As it happened I was listening/watching online just yesterday evening to Barack Obama’s Selma speech which this brings to mind for me. Keep dreaming! -Glen
