We Are Not Game Poem by chichichapatile mangochi

We Are Not Game

Why do you hunt us like game?
Whose children are we?
And whose children are you?
When a tree is cut down
By iniquitous man
A bird loses only its nest
It takes flight to another welcomed tree
A tree older and wiser than you
Planted and watered by nature.
