We Poem by Harthman Carpio Munteanu

We

I just watched you walking through that
pointless door
And your shadow seemed to be
scratching my floor
That deep was the silence you have
left behind
The power you felt must’ve been
one of the kind

Perhaps, at that moment,
the heaven itself
had bled –
‘cause I did;
my courage
had fled
So senseless it looked my whole love
for you
So empty, so dark the life I…
once knew

I followed behind the window
to see
If there’s just one glance of hers
back at me
But she kept on going decided
and cold
And then I had no one to call
and to hold

I blinked like erasing last seconds
that past:
She taught me “forever” –
how long it can last.
