Watercourse Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

Watercourse

Rating: 5.0

I was intent to cross that watercourse
Full of water, my judgment deep
I got in and moved up, at halfway reach
I gave up and pulled out in a creep;
Of water, I knew,
more than what has been
And on depth- a scale
not hitherto seen

Sometimes we plunge into situations thinking that we can successfully handle them. But once we start doing, we realize that things are too complicated and beyond our power to handle. In such cases, it is better to drop it! This wisdom we get through experience. A beautiful poem crisp and profound!

A brilliant poem imbued with wisdom and insight When we plunge into something we must assess first if we have the capability to do so. Yet, we want to try everything and whatever the consequence of our undertaking is a great lesson that can guide us to propel to a better path.

Excellent thought! Those depths we believe just within our reach oftentimes try to pull us under. Much, much deeper than we imagine, as is life, knowledge and love.
