Water Goes With Everything Poem by mark nwagwu

Water Goes With Everything

They tell me: white wine first
then red
and don't go back to white.
If you must,
move to champagne
maybe end with cognac
all grape-based rinks

What of gin, I ask
or vodka
or scotch
or rye

Sir, there, you're on your own
they don't mix.
If you must
then mix with water.
Water goes with everything
