Water And Sand Poem by Mpho Nkadimeng

Water And Sand

Water and sand bound to the wind
These are my stories set to dim my thoughts and purify my being
Tales of blistering pathways and soothing misconceptual destinies
All plastered in these scathing empty glasses resembling hours of time
I'm plunged in consolidated structures of corporeal spiritual inexistence
With faith transcripting my life
Forcing judgement upon my breath that becomes questioned by ideas
I told my stories once before in birth with cries of misunderstood tongues
And was taken to be a malevolent chime of helplessness
Rebirth erased my notes and set a thought of self doubt
In sands of time I became another me
Who resembled what the truth is when is subjective to the reality of ideas
I recorded my stories in bloodlines that became extinct when baptised to social belongings
Gospelled by impure thoughts deceiving souls with relativity of beauty from taming perspectives
I cannot tell stories of my indigenous self
As I was erased from my self by who I was told to be
So instead of telling my stories
I shall tell stories I wear everytime I wear cleanliness
To wipe away my innocence.
