Beyond My Measures Of Death Poem by Mpho Nkadimeng

Beyond My Measures Of Death

Though my life is sinking beyond the measures of death
death itself shall preserve my rebirth & lead my life to eternity
it shall reap this flash off my bones & bath in my blood stored within this bathtub of my vains constantly
constantly my sweat shall draw a line of age on my skin till my heart recites the finish line for the last breath within
beyond death my bones shall be clad within the comforts of ice till they dull & run dry of age
my teeth shall crack & break to dust till my hands mean nothing to its prints only on a page
while my mind echoes beats of memories and whisper in my ears steps of fantasies
a stream of my dreams shall steam out my future with these icy clouded eyes & melt with its scriptured means
ice shall be a new chapter before my new chapter
when it melts & streams away like my heart beats echoed to time's presence
its then my flash shall dry beyond dust & feed to absence
my bones shall harden to crack with rocks
while my breath becomes a fatal memory to the air though empty presence be stored & boxed
in all events partaking its then i shall live beyond the measures of death
And death itself shall be my rebirth
