Watching From Above Poem by Randy McClave

Watching From Above

As I stood at the grave
Knowing that 6 feet under is a earth's slave,
There lies a loved one who I had loved deeply
And one who I miss completely.
I then began to speak to my loved one in the ground
And of course there is no sound,
I know that certainly that they are in heaven above
Embraced forever in God's love.
They are in heaven I had believed watching down upon me
Everything that I do or say, they also hear and see,
Then I thought that cannot possibly be true
Because, if they saw my sadness and tears they'd be sad too.
When from this world my loved one had passed away
Their tears and sorrows were not allowed to stay,
They are in heaven now with happiness and cheers
They can't hear my sadness or see my tears.
The person whom in the graveyard that I was looking for
They are not there anymore,
That loved one that I had regularly sought
Though their body is there, their soul is not.
