War Poem by Barbara Nixon

War

Rating: 5.0

A politic, a religion.
a trigger, a boot
mindless intentions,
fuelled by hate,
flawed ideologies,
no vision, no change
interminable cycle
vilify and berate.
****
Powerful rhetoric,
vitriolic, acerbic,
indoctrinated masses
soul essences plundered
lost in the quagmire
bloodshed and tears
grief of all nations
year upon year.

Maybe the Politicians who sanction these futile adventures should be first in line!
