Wandering Into The Dark Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Wandering Into The Dark

Eyes laid upon my skin
And lips would moisten
by every lustful thought
That supplies the mind
Heart hardened
until being softened
By those words that intrigued
this curious soul
Could you live up to the hype?
As the visuals of your skin
In contact with mine
Would fuel the thoughts
in my head
Fiercely fighting to
turn the advances down
Yeah, i was resistant,
you were persistent
Talking so smoothly,
each word would move me
You were the motivation,
My head was saying no
But my body was on ready, set,
Go, go, go, go
And i would surrender to
the carnal desire
Becoming physically intimate
With someone i never really knew
Danger was what i was attracted to
And i was addicted to it,
It's my nicotine
Even though i try,
It is insanly hard to quit
Regret fills the cup that
i drink from out of
It wasn't love and that
would leave me eatened up
Finally coming to my senses,
I have had enough
I'm closing this venemous chapter
Learning to love myself enough to not endanger myself
With each risk that i would take
That provides me
no real self-satisfaction
My eyes gaze into the mirror
And sees someone so beautiful
And i say to that person
Staring back at me
I love you
I need you
I want you
To treat yourself better
Than what you are
Because you deserve more
Than what you settle for
