Walking In This Lane Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Walking In This Lane

I like to lay down with the same sex
I live my life with nothing to regret
You hide yourself for fear of rejection
Cause you're not liking your own reflection
it is a shame you can't accept yourself for who and what you are
Running from your problems won't heal none your scars
you so ashamed, you speak of what you can't accept
when the world around us sneer at our existence
what makes you think that you are any different?

Is it conforming to societies views that have you thinking this way?
Learn how to take pride in yourself and let go of the self-hate

Oh, i'm a sinner
And i'm going to hell
You looking at me like I committed the ultimate sin
You condemn me by casting stones
Aren't you with sin, if you read the scripture that's something you would of known
Now come again? already made up my mind
There ain't no problem with walking down this lane
