Walking Past My Brother Poem by Jeffery Scott Morris

Walking Past My Brother

The frankness of the filth
Carved a chasm of disparity
Separating my being from his
Pity gave way to disgust
Sympathy boiled to enmity
That could not be negotiated
Back to a moment of empathy
