A Night Without You Poem by Jeffery Scott Morris

A Night Without You

A fragment of your fragrance
Succumbs to the smog of chaos
I reach for a small remembrance
Finding only shards of glances
Muffled words exchanged in haste

On the ceiling of this room
Your face appears in full
A totem of love and grace
Resplendent with promise

Promises echoed and fulfilled
Promises forgotten and broken
Marring the landscape of Eden
Yet, we rise from the ashes
